Avoira is 50

Avoira celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, marking half a century of delivering trusted technology solutions to organisations across the UK. Founded in 1976 as Pennine Communications, the company has evolved from a specialist in two-way radio systems into an integrated provider of audio-visual solutions, unified communications, managed IT, cyber security, critical communications, connectivity and AI-driven analytics.

Avoira donates technology to the Bury community

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we attended a handover at the Jubilee Centre where 50 Amazon Alexa devices were given to older residents across Bury. The devices were distributed through Age UK Bury and Bury Blind Society. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many of the recipients were excited about how voice‑activated technology could help them stay connected, informed, and more independent especially those living alone, with limited mobility, or with visual impairments.  Watch our video from Andy Roberts (Avoira) and James Frith (MP for Bury North).

Avoira @ The Arcade Club

The staff at Avoira celebrated the company 50th Anniversary, which was officially on 1st May.  What a great venue to celebrate the decades with computer games galore at the Arcade Club in Bury.  From Street Fighter, Guitar Hero to Track and Field, there was something for everyone.  Everyone received an anniversary edition of the Avoira polo top – Celebrating 50 Years!  There were burgers, hot dogs, cup cakes and an anniversary cake.  I hope everyone attending enjoyed themselves and it was great to see the multi-player games getting everyone playing the games and enjoying the moments together.

New Year Party!
Avoira's 50th Anniversary

New Year Party!

What a way to kick off Avoira’s 50th year in business. We celebrated in style at our traditional New Year’s Party as the Red Hall in Bury came alive with stunning gold and 50th-themed decorations, a fun photo booth to capture the sparkle, and—of course—delicious food, live music, and fabulous dancing.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought the energy, laughter, and those legendary dance moves, and to our brilliant band Retrospect for keeping the dance floor full all night. 🎉
